Dillard is strongly Pro-life. He has been endorsed by numerous pro-life, pro family groups like the Illinois Citizens for Life PAC

    Obviously they missed some information…

    • Jay Peiper

I’m sure the Champion News folks will enjoying knowing this:

Despite the present smear pushed by some writers on this blog, Kirk Dillard has a been a leader in the pro-life movement for many years. He is endorsed by the Illinois Federation for Right to Life, Eagle Forum and Family PAC. He is supported on an individual level by pro life leaders around the state, including Penny Pullen, Mary Ann Hackett, David Smith, Liz Eilers. Sheila Devall, Reverend Bob Vanden Bosch, Nick Costello, and Phyllis Schlafly.

Good for him. Still doesn’t change the facts in this post.

Illinois Federation for Right to Life also has endorsed Dillard.

At least Dillard is a Republican. The Rauner family gives BIG money to Democrats.

“Rauner and his wife Diana have given to the Democratic National Committee, Sen. Dick Durbin, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, U.S. Rep. Ed Markey, Sen. Max Baucus and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, campaign disclosure records show. ”

    Read it all here:

    • LennieJarratt

And Rauner has given more to republican and conservative causes.

It’s also interesting that Dillard endorses and donates to Obama and says that makes him more credible in the general because he works with Dems. So which is it?

      • David Von Graf-Ritter

We all know Dillard DID NOT endorse Obama. He only appeared in a tv commercial talking about legislation they worked on together. Dillard endorsed McCain and was a McCain delegate to the 2008 GOP Convention.

How about the maximum allowable contribution the Rauner family gave to Obama’s presidential campaign? Read it all here:

        http://illinoisreview.typepad.com/illinoisreview/2013/03/rauner-the-outsider.html

As please don’t respond with the minor amount Dillard spent attending the Obama inaugural as part of the Illinois Senate Delegation. Its beneath your “reporter” credentials.

This “story” appears to be from 2003. Doesn’t even come directly from Planned Parenthood’s website. Is this the best you’ve got to trash Dillard with?

    • LennieJarratt

      Just reporting the facts….

      • Jay Peiper

Ha! A single item from 2003, that is grossly inaccurate, is far from “just reporting the facts” isn’t it?

It’s more likely you are just finding trivial tidbits to support your slanted opinion.

        • LennieJarratt

Just making sure everyone has all the facts on the candidates. It’s really that simple.

Legislative Ratings usually are based on specific bills? What is this rating based on? Which bills?

    • Justin Leiter

This “100%” rating was based on was one bill – a bill that had nothing to do with abortion – a bill that required birth control pills be paid for if the employer offers other pharmaceuticals. These pills are often prescribed by a doctor for OB/GYN treatment for things other than birth control, such as cysts on ovaries and other therapeutic purposes.

Interesting that Dillard received a 8% rating from this group the year before.

    • Justin Leiter

Ask Planned Parenthood. I did. They were as initially stunned as I was. Kirk Dillard had a 100 percent voting record? Really?

They checked their records and got back to me. According to Planned Parenthood, they rated Senators on just one bill in 2003. That bill required insurance companies to cover contraception.

There are plenty on the right who oppose any governmental insurance mandates for contraception, but Dillard wasn’t supporting an abortion bill, so any implication that this record implies he’s pro-choice is ludicrous on its face.

Kirk Dillard is pro life! Hot off the presses:

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRO LIFE LEADERS DEMAND APOLOGY FROM BRUCE RAUNER

Recently the pro-life voting record of gubernatorial candidate Kirk
Dillard has been called into question by a smear campaign funded by his
political opponents. Yesterday, an internet blog calling itself
“Champion News” used a decade-old web page to imply that Dillard was favored by abortion provider Planned Parenthood.

Pro-life leaders from around the state are outraged, and have demanded
an apology from the staunchly pro-choice Bruce Rauner, who opposes
Dillard in the GOP Primary March 18th.

    Kirk Dillard has been a
long time pro-life leader. He has sponsored parental notice
legislation, championed abstinence education, and has stood up for life
throughout his career in the Illinois Senate. Just last week, he was
the only candidate for governor to be endorsed by Illinois Citizens for
Life and Illinois Federation for Right to Life. Dillard has also been
endorsed by pro-life Eagle Forum State PAC and Family-PAC. Furthermore,
Dillard is supported individually by pro-life advocates state-wide,
including Penny Pullen, Bonnie Quirke, Mary Anne Hackett, Liz Eilers,
Sheila Devall, Reverend Bob VandenBosch, Nick Costello, and Phyllis
    Schlafly.

    Sharee Langenstein, Illinois’ pro-life representative
to the Republican National Platform Committee in 2012, now serves as
statewide Co-Chairman of Conservatives for Dillard. She had this to say
about the anti-Dillard story: “Champion News is wholly owned by Jack
Roeser, who is an open supporter of pro-abortion candidate Bruce Rauner.
Rauner and his wife Diana have donated tens of thousands of dollars to
pro-choice organizations including Personal PAC and Emily’s List, and
Rauner has donated $440,000 to Roeser’s political organizations. We no
more trust what Champion News has to say about pro-life candidates than
we would trust Planned Parenthood. We demand an apology from Bruce
Rauner for this attempt to deliberately mislead pro-life voters through
    the Champion News blog.”

    • Justin Leiter

It’s no secret that Dillard is Pro-Life, but a great post anyway!!!

  • David Von Graf-Ritter

Illinois Federation for Right to Life also has endorsed Dillard.

  • LennieJarratt

Good for him. Still doesn’t change the facts in this post.

  • David Von Graf-Ritter

Really? Do you honestly think Dillard is not Pro-Life? Or are you just using a single rating from 2003 (yes, ten years ago folks!) to try and smear him?

Smart voters will easily see through this.

Facts are facts. That is all this is, one more fact.
